WP5

The main goal of this WP is to systematically characterise the effects of the in-utero exposome on early-organ development and growth, using data from the new ATHLETE cohorts with novel state-of-the-art data collection on exposures and outcomes in the earliest phase of life (Gen R Next, BiSC, SEPAGES, Piccolipiù, and ENVIRONAGE).

Outcomes are measured with recently developed imaging techniques of the embryo, foetus, neonate and infant, combined with detailed measurements, observations and questionnaires.

We will focus on:

• General growth and placental function
• Brain growth and development
• Cardiovascular structure and development
• Lung and airways growth and development
