The Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP) is a private, non-profit association, with public utility status, created in 2006, within the University of Porto.

ISPUP mission is to contribute to the development, application and dissemination of knowledge in the field of public health, with the aim of improving and protecting the health of the human population.

Through the Epidemiology Research Unit (EPIUnit), created in 2015, and classified in 2019 as “Excellent” by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the institute produces highly competitive and innovative scientific research in the field of public health, with high social impact, and oriented to provide solutions to global health problems and threats.
