Univeristy of Turin (UNITO)
The University of Turin (UNITO) is one of the largest Italian Universities, with about 70,000 students, 4,000 employees, 1,800 post-graduate and post-doctoral students. Research and training are performed in 27 departments, encompassing all disciplines. The long record of participation of UNITO in the EU strategic research agenda results from 115 FP7 funded research projects, 14 ERC grants, and 96 H2020 funded projects up to now.
The Department of Medical Sciences of UNITO accommodates the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU), one of the main Italian epidemiological research centres. CEU has specific expertise in epidemiological and biostatistical methods, particularly in life-course, cancer, clinical, occupational, and molecular epidemiology. The Unit has a long tradition in coordination and participating in large national and international epidemiological studies.

Main tasks in the project
UNITO leads task 2.4 and contributes especially to WP1, 3 and 6. The CEU in particular is deeply involved in birth cohort research (infant growth, childhood obesity, asthma, neurocognitive development) and coordinates the NINFEA cohort and the Turin centre of the Piccolipiù cohort.
